Why is the plastic in CLAF Bio Fabric different than conventional polyethylene?
Conventional polyethylene is produced from raw materials such as oil or natural gas and is found in many everyday products: food packaging, cosmetics, bags, among others. CLAF Bio Fabric is made from a plastic made from a renewable raw material: ethanol from sugarcane.
Is it possible to verify the difference between CLAF Bio Fabric polyethylene vs. other petroleum / fossil fuel polyethylene?
It is impossible to detect the difference between the two plastics by visual analysis, since both are the same regarding color, appearance and texture. However, through a relatively simple analysis of C-14 carbon dating, the differences are very well defined.
Is CLAF Bio Fabric Recyclable?
Yes, CLAF Bio Fabric is a recyclable material that can be recycled using the processes in use today to recycle petroleum-based polyethylene.
